A Rant of Little Importance. . .

to maybe anyone but me. I know this will probably seem silly to many of you out there, but we all have some small thing or two that bugs us. . .don't we? And since I'm in the middle of a stretch of seven graveyard shifts, my brain is in another Zone. You know the one--it starts with a Twi and ends with a light.
With that in mind, I have decided to start here with my new campaign, and that is to encourage the proper pronunciation of the word. . . Bruschetta!
Broo-sket-ta! Broo-sket-ta! Broo-sket-ta! Not Broosheta! Thank you for your support.
(Not really sure where that came from, or even why. Chalk it up to a mild case of bloggorrhea).
Thanks again.

The randomness emerging from the Twiligh zone is quite comical. At least you know where your brain is, mine is missing in action. Call me sometime sister dear, as we have lots to talk about, but make sure you call my cell phone, as I am not in Kodiak. I would call you, but the Twilight zone is hard to get to. Love you!!!

Kim,
I can truly understand your worries of the proper pronunciation of the word brochette as a word travel I remember being chastised for my improper pronunciation by a waiter in Greece and after a few failed a tempts at correcting me and a couple of bottles of wine. I just wanted it to taste good like Broo-sket-ta should no matter how it's or spelled it should just taste good. The following is the cure for what ales you. Beleave when you taste it you'll know if it is pronounced GOOD.
Serving Size: (4 servings)

Ingredients:

16 jumbo shrimp, shells removed
16 thin slices of prosciutto
1 red onion, cut into 16 pieces approx. 1" x 1"
2 fennel bulbs, cut into 16 pieces approx. 1" x 1"
3 red peppers, cut into 16 pieces approx. 1" x 1"
1 Tbsp olive oil
4 wooden skewers
salt and pepper
Method:
Wrap each shrimp with one slice of prosciutto. Skewer one shrimp, followed by a piece of red onion, piece of fennel and piece of red pepper. Repeat three times so that each skewer has 4 shrimp and 4 pieces of each vegetable. Brush with olive oil and season to taste with salt and pepper.

Place brochettes on a hot grill and turn every 2 to 3 minutes. They will fully cook within 10 minutes. Set on a plate, brush with chimichurri sauce and serve.

all my love to you sis
